Description:
This handsome two-volume deluxe edition of Albert G. Mackey’s Encyclopedia of Freemasonry represents one of the most enduring reference works in the Craft’s history. Revised and expanded by noted Masonic authors William J. Hughan 33° and Edward L. Hawkins 30°, this comprehensive encyclopedia explores the full range of Masonic art, history, symbolism, and moral philosophy.

Bound in rich brown embossed covers featuring the square, compasses, and altar emblem surrounded by a Masonic border of working-tools, this edition is both visually striking and intellectually essential. Profusely illustrated with engravings, portraits, and historical plates, it includes hundreds of entries on Masonic laws, rites, personalities, and symbolic interpretations.

Clegg’s revision was the first to integrate twentieth-century scholarship and the findings of European Masonic historians, making it the definitive mid-century Mackey edition still used by Masonic researchers today.

Both volumes in very good condition. Tight bindings, gilt titles sharp, and pages clean with only light age toning. Covers show minimal shelf wear and strong decorative detail. An exceptionally preserved set suitable for study or display in any Masonic library.
