Description:
This offering includes six of the seven volumes from the monumental History of Freemasonry by Dr. Albert G. Mackey, one of the foremost Masonic scholars of the nineteenth century. This richly illustrated edition, published by The Masonic History Company, remains one of the most extensive and authoritative histories of the Craft ever produced.
Mackey’s magnum opus explores the legends, traditions, and chronological development of Freemasonry, tracing its origins from ancient operative builders to the speculative fraternity of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Later volumes—authored in collaboration with William R. Singleton and William J. Hughan—extend the work to include the symbolism of Freemasonry, the Scottish Rite, and the Royal Order of Scotland, along with historical addenda and commentary.
Bound in elegant olive-green cloth with gilt Masonic symbols on the spine and upper cover, each volume is printed on quality paper and includes numerous engravings, charts, and diagrams.
Condition:
This is an incomplete set, containing Volumes II through VII (missing Volume I). Overall good to very good condition: light rubbing to covers and spine ends, gilt remains bright, interiors clean and sound with only minor age toning.
